Born Dec. 29, 1957, in Grand Island.
Education: Graduate of Hordville High School, 1976.
Family: Married Alice Turek, April 26, 1980; three children: Michael, Stephen and Christine.
Occupation: Retired
Former: President and business manager, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1597, maintenance mechanic, welder and heavy equipment operator.
Member: board, Heartland United Way; board, Nebraska Alliance for Child Advocacy Centers; Knights of Columbus; Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Former member: parish council, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; board, Central Community College Board of Governors, 2022-25.
Honors and awards: 2021 T.E.A.M. Advocate of the Year; 2021 Dan Lutz Passenger Rail Advocacy Award, Pro Rail Nebraska; 2020 Farmers Union President’s Award; 2018 BILLD Fellow.
